Elementary School News:
Thank you to those parents who joined us for the “Meet the Teacher’ evening last night, August 23. It was an opportunity for parents to meet the teachers and become familiar with classroom routines. The students are now well settled in their respective classes and are getting to know one another. They cheerfully go off to their swimming, Art, Music and Mandarin classes and chat about the interesting units they are studying. Please remember the PYP/MYP ESL Coffee Morning next week on Tuesday 28 August at 8.15 am. Each week we celebrate students’ birthdays and award certificates for Learner Profile behaviour. It is a fantastic way to finish a busy week! Middle School News: Everyone has settled into a routine and learning is at the fore. Just wandering in and out of classrooms, I learnt about Martin Luther King in Mother Tongue; the Design Cycle in MYP; the essential equipment needed for Science; and how to say Japan in Mandarin! Wonderful to see so much engagement happening. WWW This week we finalised our Week Without Walls (WWW) trips, and now the bookings are confirmed and settled. These journeys are more than students visiting another part of South -East Asia. They are a chance for each student to live in a new community and ‘walk in someone else's shoes’ for a week. Need more information? Go to Week Without Walls website. Developing Approaches To Learning Each Friday every student explore an aspect of learning. In a period dedicated to Developing Approaches To Learning (DATL), our students dive deeper into understanding communication, self management, research, thinking and interacting with others. This weeks image comes from a collaboration activity run by Dr Jeremiah. Wonderful stuff! ECA This Monday (27th August) the Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) commence. A wide array of sports and activities are on offer. All essential information can be found at http://isseca.weebly.com/ Have a great weekend MT Comments are closed.
