It was great to see so many parents in our Design Centre on Monday for the PTA meeting. The PTA has arranged some great events this year and my thanks goes out to them for being such a wonderful part of our learning community.
As a parent myself who is prone to checking his phone I was interested in the findings of research in the UK that found that an overuse of mobile phones by parents disrupts family life. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-39666863 It was a good reminder for me to make sure I modelled the ability to moderate my own use of screens if I wanted them to moderate their own screen use. Something to think about as you put the phone away and enjoy a great weekend.
