Paterson Road Leadership Structure 2017-2018
I have recently been appointed to the post of Learning and Teaching Advisor with English Schools Foundation (ESF) in Hong Kong. Whilst I am excited by the unique professional opportunity of working across the 17 Primary Schools and Kindergartens of the ESF group, it is with great sadness that I have to announce that my family and I will be leaving ISS at the end of the 2016/17 academic year in June. It has been an honour to be part of the ISS community and to work in such a great school. ISS has provided me with a wonderful professional experience but more importantly I could not have wished for a better school for my own children. I would like to thank all members of the ISS community for their warmth and support during our time here, I am pleased to say that I leave Paterson Campus in good hands as next academic year the current Heads of Elementary and Middle schools, Sharyn Skrtic and Michael Taylor, will become Elementary School Principal and Middle School Principal. This returns to the structure we had last academic year. I am sure that Paterson Campus will continue to grow and thrive guided by their excellent leadership. Message from Dr Alvarez Note of congratulations from ISS Please join me in congratulating Derek Pinchbeck on this fabulous achievement. ESF is one of the leading providers in international education in Hong Kong and is a very active participant in IB circles. I am so proud that ISS has been an important contributor to building the professional profile that has led to this appointment. Well done and although we are sad you will be leaving us, we thoroughly celebrate your achievement. Margaret Alvarez Elementary School News It was an exciting week in the ES with all of the Literacy week events and activities. Dave Lowe, author from Brisbane, Australia spent a day sharing his work with Grades 2-5. We have already been back in Semester Two for five weeks! It barely feels like one week… So to what’s been happening in Middle School. A wondrous week of literacy has been enjoyed by all. Congratulations to our our Random Reading Winners- Travis, Cajsa and Olivia. There were some very creative submissions but these three stood out. Well done. There was also decorate a door in honour of some of the students favourite books; and last but not the least the Mother Tongue reading exchange.
