Congratulations to the following students from G12: Kaho, Wei (Benjamin), Lucinda, Euijin (Rachel) and from G11: Yewan (Daisy), Zixuan, Yen-ju (Ruby), Zhihao (Rock), Riko and Aye Nyein Po (ANP) on their wonderful displays of art work last night. ISS along with 15 other schools participate in the IN Art Exhibition every year that is hosted by the Australian High Commission and provides our students with an opportunity to discuss and share their work with a wide audience. Ms Larue is dedicated to providing our students with learning experiences that embrace the IB Learner profile as communicators, risk-takers and reflective. We also had two of our DP Musicians chosen to play the piano during the evening; Mingzuo (Sam) and Yinman (Angelica). If you were unable to attend the opening night, you can still go along and see the exhibition which closes on 18 January 2019.
International Day As part of the preparations for International Day, one Grade 12 Kampong class met up with their Grade 2 counterparts during a lunchtime this week. They took photos of nature on campus and on the metal walkway on Preston Road with the aim to create a collage that represents SDG 15 and biodiversity in Singapore and to contribute to iNaturalist. The students had a wonderful time getting to know each other and to share the wonderful sites along the walk. Royindha Refugee Fundraising Our Grade 10 students collaborated to fund raise for the Royindha Refugee’s through a sale of delicious food and snacks and a badminton tournament on Friday. All proceeds raised will be donated to the Royindha Refugees. Take Action through Service is an important core component of the IB programme and our students are provided with many opportunities throughout their time at ISS to take on leadership roles and really make a difference for the less fortunate. Well done to all of the Grade 10’s involved in the event. IB Pathways Meeting for Grade 10 On Thursday evening our hall was packed with students, parents and guardians to hear about the various pathways available for students after Grade 10 at ISS. Ms. Bleyberg our DP coordinator shared with the audience the different subjects and options available to students. She also explained about the extensive process the students will be involved in as they begin to consider their future. At ISS we start with the information evening, then a subject fair that is led by our Grade 11’s. The Grade 10’s will also participate in a job fair, our World of Work programme, along with individual interviews with our University advisor and DP coordinator. All of these events help support the decision process for the students as they consider their higher education options and the best subjects to support them. Comments are closed.
