We ended our week with Vanessa from Project X a non-profit organisation that ‘believe that sex worker’s rights are the same fundamental human rights that everyone is inherently entitled to. We wish to challenge the stigma and discrimination that results in physical, verbal, emotional, and financial violence’ Vanesa spoke with our Grade 11 English B students who are currently reading the novel ‘Sold’ by Patricia McCormick and also our Dressember ECA group about the Sex Industry in Singapore and shared many facts and information about the stigma attached to the industry. Our students asked some meaningful questions and left with a deeper understanding.
